Alex White paints the exquisite light and color of California. Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of the land, each image is transformed into a personal expression of brilliant color. Alex specializes in contemporary landscapes in acrylic and pastel, and also paints figures, still-lifes, and portraits. These uniquely beautiful works are exhibited frequently and are in collections in the United States and Europe. Most recently, work was selected for juried shows by the Pastel Society of the West Coast, the City of Albany Arts Commission, the Marin County Art Fair, the Palo Alto Committee for Green Foothills, the Alameda Art Center, and the Fairfield and Fremont Art Associations.
Alex graduated with honors from the California College of the Arts, and has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for over twenty-five years. The artist has taught pastel drawing and acrylic painting at the University of California, Berkeley, at several Bay Area Adult Schools, at Berkeley Public and Private Schools, and at the Berkeley School of the Arts. Current memberships include the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, the Pastel Society of the West Coast, and the Environmental Artists Directory.
